Early morning and evenings are the best times to fish right now. The catch and release areas are the best places to fish for trout due to the high water temps on the lower stretches. Go for smallies if you are fishing below #2 Buckland Dam. The action has been great for these species. The CT river is also a great resource this time of year. WE have a selection of poppers and bass flies. Crimp your barbs and don’t play trout this time of year. Get em in and off the hook quickly so they have a better chance of surviving until the temps cool off again.
